Terry Rumored to Join Yobo and Drogba at Fenerbahçe
It’s now apparent that Chelsea’s captain, John Terry, is out of favour and could be on his way out of Stamford Bridge in this summer's transfer window.
It’s been reported that the player will be making his way out of the club to team up with Nigeria’s Joseph Yobo at Fenerbahçe in Turkey.
This development is believed to be a move by the Turkish to escalate the rivalry with their fierce competitors, Galatasaray, who brought in the likes of Didier Drogba from Chelsea in a bid to bolster their squad.
For quite some time now, Terry hasn’t experienced the best of the seasons while with the Blues. He appeared to have lost the touch of commanding the starter’s shirt under the interim manager Rafael Benitez.
Even though Rafael Benitez isn’t likely to be the man in charge of the Blues come the new campaign, it’s evident that the former England captain will be greatly focusing on making a change of venue as part of his immediate future.
Given the fact that he just has one more year in his current deal with Chelsea, Terry considers a move to be on the cards.
With the likes of Didier Drogba and Wesley Sneijder in their signings, Galatasaray have been on the forefront grabbing the headlines over their rivals Fenerbahçe. The Turkish side has promised its fans that they’ll be signing up more big names to their squad in the summer.
At 32 years of age, Terry is still in good shape and a top defender. Fenerbahçe believes he still has a couple of years in his prime, and partnering with the likes of Yobo in the backline of the Canaries would be highly regarded as a major upgrade.
