Tottenham's Semi-Finals Jinx Continues, Courtesy of Man Utd

Spurs fans should look at it this way:

It's tough enough just getting to the semi-finals of any competition.

After all, that's more than only four sides can say.

But somehow, that still doesn't describe the feeling of making it that far again and tumbling outta the running.

 

This time, it was the FA Cup, with Manchester United doing the deed.

Not that Tottenham didn't go down without a fight, but they went down nonetheless.

This was one of the most entertaining FA Cup semi-finals in recent memory, with the Red Devils emerging victorious, 1-2.


This was the only chance for both teams to earn any sorta silverware this season. That urgency was on display all over the pitch, too.

Dele Alli tallied the opener, which must have felt like an early Mike Tyson right to United, as it came in only the 11th minute:

 


But United aren't the comeback kings for nothing.

OK, it's actually been nothing for a while, now. But in the immortal words of Buzz Lightyear:

 

Alexis Sánchez was brought into the Devil's fold with a hella lotta expectations on his shoulders.

Dude didn't disappoint in this one:

The comeback was finally completed when the ever-industrious Ander Herrera completed a classic United counter:

 


And so it was, the fourth straight time Tottenham's been knocked outta the semis.
