Ronaldo Returns, Gets Down to Biz Quickly
Cristiano Ronaldo was suspended for five matches after an incredibly stupid incident in the pre-season.
Now, dude's returned in a rather bold way.
Real Madrid is the clear favorite in the Champions League Group D pool play, and their first match outta the gate was against a Cypriot team that's just glad to pick up appearance money.
That'd be APOEL Nicosia.
Not surprisingly, this was a walk in the park for Real, to the tune of a 3-0 victory.
Los Blancos wasted no time putting the match to bed, and who else but the returning Ronaldo to open the scoring only 12 minutes after kickoff:
Frankly, the Cypriot side put on a decent show of conditioning, as they spent most of the match chasing. But they held fast to the hopes of a lucky goal until a penalty gave Ronaldo a shot from the spot six minutes after intermission.
