Ref Reds Wrong Baggie; Man City Romps
After being boxed around for 90+ minutes by Barcelona, Manchester City cruised to a 3-0 result against West Bromwich Albion.
The Baggies clearly will never be confused with Barça, but then again, neither will Burnley. It was a battle to regain City's morale, and they came out of it with flying colors. The race to the Premiership's finish line may not be a one-horse race, after all.
As the show got on the road, it looked like the Keystone Kops were having an intrasquad scrimmage:
Itchy fingers for a red card, ref? Dude had a choice and blew it, too.
Later, the gauntlet runner in that sorry episode of mistaken identity, Wilfried Bony, opened his account for the club:
There's a lotta dude to that dude, but he still manages to move it around like a cat. And what's West Brom's No 4 thinking? Certainly not offside. He should get an assist.
The second strike for City was another one for the blooper reel, as Baggies wound up strewn everywhere:
Three Bagsters aided Fernando on that goal. Even match-fixing couldn't produce that scene.
Then, City’s David Silva got to the right place at the right time to seal the deal for the reigning Champions:
His feet work like a wand in the pitch. Still, how that shot got through without a seeing-eye dog was more proof that this wasn't a Baggies kind of day.
Chelsea still have two games in hand and the title seems to be theirs for the taking. But a few more crazy games like this in the last few weeks and the plot could thicken. For that to happen, though, Manchester City has to be better than the gap.
