Real Madrid Hates Surprises, So There Weren't Any
San Sebastian is quite picturesque this time of year.
Just ask the crew from Real Madrid.
It was surely a beautiful sight for them, watching a trio of goals mosey into Real Sociedad's net en route to a cushy 0-3 La Liga opener.
For the first time in seven years, the Blancos started a game without Mr Football -- aka Cristiano Ronaldo -- in the starting XI.
No big deal, really.
Real's plug-&-play roster simply shifted to Ronaldo's supposed heir -- Gareth Bale -- to get the festivities under way early on, and he complied with a second-minute strike:
Dude's becoming an mini-Zlatan in the box.
Marco Asensio doubled Real's pleasure with a nifty chip goal in the 40th minute:
Now, that's the kind of play everyone either paid or tuned in to see.
Bale did the bookend thing in time added on because why not:
With so much uncertainty in the world, it's clear the Blancos didn't want to add to it.
