PSG Suffers Shock Loss at Strasbourg

Yet again, take no match for granted.

Paris-St Germain manager Unai Emery was looking at a banged-up roster and a looming Champions League tie against FC Bayern on Tue 5 Dec, so he figured he could give a few of his reserves a run.

After all, PSG's Ligue 1 opponent this week was lowly RC Strasbourg, sitting 16th in the 20-team table.

What could possibly go wrong?

Edinson Cavani, Marco Verratti, and Thiago Silva were all left off the starting XI, with Cavani making a guest appearance in the 75th minute and Verratti in the 80th when PSG made a rush to salvage a point.

Didn't happen.

Not much did, really. This was Le Racing's time to shine and give its fans a memory.

Mission accomplished, 2-1, complements of Nuno da Costa and Stéphane Bahoken, who more than offset Kylian Mbappé's fifth goal of the season:

Strasbourg anguished through nine minutes of stoppage in the second half, caused by their 'keeper, Bingourou Kamara, colliding with defender Presnel Kimpembe and ultimately being replaced by Alexandre Oukidja.

But they held firm, gaining three precious points that lifted them outta the danger zone.

They surely needed them more than PSG did.
