No Strikers? No Prob for the Citizens

Manchester City were short on strikers but not on goals.

The injury to star forward Agüero could've taken a toll on the Citizens, but barrels and barrels of petrodosh has a way of preventing that.

The absence of leader Vincent Kompany and sniper Agüero had virtually no effect on the reigning champions. City had their opportunities in the first half against Crystal Palace last weekend, but better ones were posted by the Eagles, which was for all intents and purposes the Yannick Bolasie Show.

However, that show was no go. 0-0 at the intermission.

The homeside boom finally got lowered after that. Manchester City took the game to the Eagles, hammering three goals to grab another trio of points. David Silva was the first to bask in the limelight:

That’s Silva showing his Midas touch. Everything he kicks turns to gold.

No strikers? Who cares when they have Yaya:

With this win, Mancunians got level with Chelsea, who have a game in hand.

But it wasn't all hearts and flowers last week for City, whose earlier prayers to the football gods were denied in the Champions League draw.

It might behoove them to make sure a striker or two is healthy for that one.
