Manchester United Sinks Deeper into the Abyss

The Red Devils' freefall seems neverending.

After a miserable exit from the Champions League, Manchester United fell prey to newly-promoted but relegation-threatened Bournemouth, who picked off a welcome trois points with a 2-1 decision.

The Cherries haven't won two straight games all season, but picked a novel pair against whom to do it: Chelsea and Manchester United.

Bournemouth are suddenly looking as if they're on pace to claim the Premiership itself. Setting the stage for José Mourinho's exit from Stamford Bridge must've made their season, and to top it with the Devils' collective scalps will be the talk of their South Coast pubs for years.

The first goal in this match exemplified how much luck Bournemouth carries these days:

The wind was blowing in the right direction for the home side. Literally.

If this was rugby, United would've been credited with a goal via pushover:

The old bulldozer play.

Then came a moment of magic from Josh King, haunting the club that gave him his start:

That probably failed on the practice ground every time he tried it.

An impatient crowd at Old Trafford may not shout “Attack, Attack, Attack!” now, but after this, they might cry “Sack, Sack, Sack!”
