Manchester United Goes from Boring to Ballistic

Amazing. the Red Devils have finally come out of their shell and scored more than zero goals in a match.

However, Newcastle United un-funked itself, too, for at least a day and also earned a point in this 3-3 cracker.

Manchester United has been saddled with the boring label lately, but not in this one, as there was no lack of goals and no nodding fans in the stands.

Wayne Rooney gave the Reds a rare first half lead as he tucked in a penalty:

Rooney then provided the second, as Jesse Lingard went five-hole, to use a hockey term:

Manchester United fans probably didn't know what to do with themselves, watching their lads jump to a two-goal lead. Having said that, the United players clearly didn't know what to do with themselves in that situation.

Newcastle came back, starting with Georginio Wijnaldum finding twine:

The ol' 1-2 routine always works in football.

Apart from the beautiful game, fans got to see a testy wrestling match that got the Magpies a penalty. Putting it away was no problem for Aleksander Mitrović:

Rooney may have been silent for some time now, but he exploded at St James' Park.

Put two 'keepers in there, and they wouldn't make the save.

A misfired rocket flew from Newcastle’s armory, too, but it landed at the perfect spot for Paul Dummett.

Louis van Gaal’s offense may have gotten on track, but his luck still hasn't.
