Manchester United Could Actually Be a Serious Contender

After a humiliating trouncing by Arsenal, Manchester United has righted the proverbial ship.

Everton proved to provide only a light crosswind along the Red Devil course to victory, as the 0-3 whitewash at Goodison showed.

The van Gaal philosophy is finally taking hold in earnest. No one asks the hard questions after a sound triumph, a sign that the buy-in is widespread. At least, for the moment. After all, United is such luring clickbait that there will always be another crisis, justified or not.

It was all surprise, surprise for the Red Devils, as Morgan Schneiderlin scored his first in a red shirt:

Only few lucky ones get such easy debut goals.

Meanwhile, that analyst should share whatever meds he's on with his compatriot who provided audio for the Real Madrid v Levante match.

But back to Merseyside.

Ander Herrera always comes up with something for United, be it bad or good. This time, it was the latter:

A perfect cross matched by a perfect run and finish.

Wayne Rooney has been on the hit list of critics for quite some time now, but he acquitted himself quite well on this day:

This has always been his weapon of choice to silence the naysayers.

Next up for the Red Devils: their crosstown rivals.

It matters.
