Manchester United Actually Score Again
After three straigh losses in which they were -- putting it delicately -- goal-free, Manchester United are back to winning ways.
Louis van Gaal's crew fought hard (!) against Crystal Palace (!!) to post a 1-2 result at Selhurst Park.
It wasn’t much of a match, really, as United dominated the first 45 minutes but only cracked the defense through a controversial penalty call.
Not quite Maradona's Hand of God. More like the Bicep of Beelzebub.
Juan Mata took the penalty kick, as a certain other striker is in the doghouse.
Apparently, everybody's been missing penalties except Mata.
Second half run of play was a completely different story, as Palace switched roles with United. Jason Puncheon was one of the benefactors, with a brilliant free kick.
The Red Devils have got to sort out their issues with deflected free kicks. Remember this?
Still, as comebacks go, United has had more than a few shining moments:
This may not have been as marquée a match, but the DNA is still there.
The usual van Gaal attacking strategy came into play as Fellaini scored with yet another header.
Seems like the shutout jinx might be broken.
