Manchester City Leave No Stone Unturned

Opening day for the Sky Blue sections of England's second-largest city went as expected.

Maybe Manchester City's pre-season games were a disaster more often than not, but so what?

They're just pre-season games.

City didn't disappoint when the bell finally rang, as they showed Premiership’s new boys -- Brighton & Hove Albion --  how it's done with a 2-0 victory.

The Citizens didn't suffer the same fate as certain other big clubs on Opening Day.

It's not like this was a walk in the park, though. The Seagulls fended off challenge upon challenge, keeping the match goal-free until Sergio Agüero pounced in the 70th minute.

Dude's always been there for City when it needed him, and this time he was there to score their first.

One-on-one against a 'keeper? That's generally gonna go in the Argentine international's favor.

The game's second goal was quite impressive, except for the choice of net.

Brighton’s Lewis Dunk netted a -- sorry -- dunking header likes of which only few players can execute.

Too bad it was into his own goal.

Maybe they don't care about where they score in the Championship tier.

Maybe the Seagulls had better care for the rest of the campaign.
