Liverpool's FA Effort Leaves Bolton Wandering

The 'Pool snapped out of their funk just in time to keep their FA Cup drive alive.

Hosts Bolton at least got a big gate out of it as the Reds registered a dramatic 1-2 win.

Liverpool have been working diligently to save their 2015 crusade, and hard work was the order of the day against Bolton Wanderers. They needed the full 90 to see off their northwestern neighbors.

The 'Pool were damn near pounding on the door for most of the match, but their finishing and luck still need a bit of finish. It's the story of their season, just as it was in last week's initial FA pairing:

It took a penalty to finally light up the scoreboard:

Riiiight. The Russian judge would probably give that a 5.4 with a 0.56 degree of difficulty. So there was no need for the cheesy reaction from Martin Škrtel.

It's always ballsy to blast one straight at the 'keeper. But it can be effective, as Eiður Guðjohnsen demonstrates:

Maybe he took counsel from the Norse gods. They're back in vogue, you know.

The match looked done and dusted for Liverpool as late as the 85th minute. But apparently, miracles don't walk alone on Merseyside, either. This time, it was the Reds' two tiny magicians, Raheem Sterling and Philippe Coutinho.

First-time volley while under the pressure. More difficult than it looks.

Then, Coutinho decided to give dramatic finish a whole new meaning:

Dude was given a new contract recently, and now we all know why. Bolton fans had their heart broken by the underrated Brazilian.

So, Liverpool are off with a flier to the Cup's fifth round.
