Liverpool Creep Closer to the Champions League

Liverpool pushed aside Newcastle United with a 2-0 victory to close the gap between themselves and Manchester City to a mere four points.

The Premiership title may be Chelsea’s for the taking, but the 'Pool haven't given up on its Champions League aspirations.

There are only six of matches remaining, and the race couldn't be much tighter. Not that the Magpies would know. They're just a tomato can in the scheme of things right now and are playing like it.

Raheem Sterling may have rejected a contract extension, but his solo act had Liverpool Red written all over it.

No wonder Liverpool so desperately wants him to extend his stay.
