Kolarov’s Stunning Free Kickick for Serbia Cashes Out Costa Rica

One of the surprise sides during the 2014 World Cup need to rekindle that magic again.

Or was it just an illusion?

In Brazil back then, Costa Rica made it to the quarter-finals, knocking out giants such as Italy and England.

Not so in Russia. This time, Los Ticos have started the competition poorly, losing to Serbia, 0-1.

In an even first half, both teams seemed to be as inspiring as a trip to the dentist.

The best chance came by way of the Orlovi -- technically, Орлови, the Eagles -- when Aleksandar Mitrović’s overhead kick that was denied by both the side judge and Real Madrid's 'keeper, Keylor Navas, just one minute before the break:

When a non-controversial offside play is a highlight, you know what sort of match this was.

Undaunted, Serbia kept putting pressure on Costa Rica, and following another good chance by Mitrović, good chance, Aleksandar Kolarov put his bro's on the board in the 56th minute.

Dude did it in style, too, with a great free kick, beating Navas and making the Serb contingent in Samara rather pleased:

Despite 38 more minutes played after that, Los Ticos were barely a threat. The Serbs were always closer to scoring another than conceding the equalizer.

Sergej Milinković-Savic was the Man of The Match, always clearing and dictating the pace for the Serbs.

In case you're wondering, the ć charachter is how Slavic languages symbolize the ch sound. That tidbit oughta make you appear suave and debonair the next time Serbia plays a match.

And if dudes ever wake up, there could be quite a few more of those.
