Juventus Cruises Early, Blows It Late; Spurs Cool with That

Italian giants Juventus couldn't have asked for much more.

But then, Le Zebre got it all blown away and will likely pay for it up in London.

Juve hosted the Premiership’s perennial dark horse in the Champions League opening round of bracket play, and Tottenham offered first-hand proof of their resilience.

The result was a first-leg 2-2 stalemate but with a precious two away-goals advantage to the Spurs.

Only two minutes after kickoff, Juve found themselves in the driver's seat when Gonzalo Higuain converted a beautiful set play:

Spurs hadn't completely recovered from this shock start when, only eight minutes later, Juve added another gift goal.

This time, Ben Davies was caught off-guard by Federico Bernadeschi, tripping him and leaving referee Felix Brych no choice but to point to the spot and flash a yellow card in the Welshman’s direction.

Higuain was nearly denied, but in the end, dude got the job done:

Being two goals up, Juve probably thought they had the Spurs done and dusted, but as they say, a two-goal lead is the most dangerous one in football.

Tottenham had no choice to press forward aggressively, and that's when Harry Kane well and truly gets unleashed.

Dude thus had something to say about this state of affairs:

It was a classic HarryKane stormfront.

The hosts' early good fortune wound up going south when Christian Eriksen’s freekick got a wicked deflection to level up the score:

Damn. From two goals up to handing Spurs two crucial away goals.

In the end, Juventus turned out being the prey and Tottenham the predator.
