Gunners Don't Measure Up to Stoke City

Arsenal fell short in height as well as in fight against gigantic Stoke City.

This was the poorest display of defense by the Gunners this season.

Conceding as early as 20 seconds into the game is bad enough for any club. But it's total ignominy for an outfit as high-profile as Arsenal.

And it led to a 3-2 road loss that they could ill afford.

Arsène Wenger must be wondering what he did to anger the football gods.

At least the Gunners can be happy that wasn't the fastest goal in the Premiership.

Stoke is a team of tall timbers, and the Arsenal players looked miniature when crosses volleyed into the box. The Potters out-muscled Arsenal for the majority of the game and by halftime were 3-0 up. The score line seems crazy, but it's indicative of how the Gunners played.

Next time, someone should tell the play-by crew that they're not gonna be drug-tested, so do what has to be done to put a bit of pep into it.

Anyway, the highly distorted performances are starting to become a trend for Arsenal this season. It seems Wenger should start thinking of using the the team crest’s cannon against the small guns of the Premier League to salvage something.

Or something.
