Dortmund Can't Get Outta Its Own Way
Borussia Dortmund's intent this season was to go with youth.
The exuberance of their strategy saw them get off to an impressive start, winning their first six matches and drawing one before falling to Red Bull Leipzig.
However, there is such a thing as impetuous youth, and that comes with the territory.
Since then, der BVB have hit the skids. They've managed only one point in their next five games, with the latest being a totally frustrating 2-1 loss to VfB Stuttgart.
The tea leaves were already foreboding:
- Christian Pulisic was out due to a leg injury, which is one of those things, and
- Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang was suspended by the club for, incredibly, practicing with Leipzig, which isn't.
Both were sorely missed, but neither coulda helped prevent die Schwaben from scoring their first goal.
St Nicholas' Day came early, as in the first five minutes:
It's easy to see why der BVB is sinking like a stone.
Thus, it's no surprise that manager Peter Bosz is starting to feel the heat.
As winter approaches, that's not good.
