Brazil’s Copa América Opener Goes Dramatic

Peru's not a pushover, anymore.

They certainly didn't lie down against the perennially powerful Brazilians, even though they wound up on the short end of a 2-1 result, thanks to a late marker by the prohibitive favorites.

No one's forgotten the Brazilian humiliation in the 2014 World Cup, so they've got a serious point to prove in this Copa América tourney. The Peruvian match seemed to present the perfect opportunity to do so. But unexpected twists and turns was the order of the day.

To everyone’s surprise, it was Peru to score first.

David Luiz has done some crazy things in his life.

This adds another one to the list, and on camera, yet.

Brazil didn't wait long to right the ship, though.

Too easy for the superb Neymar.

Still, the favorites had to wait 'til the dying minutes to snatch away the victory:

Chill, dude! It's what they do on that end of the pitch.

On the other end, not so much. And they've only got a few matches to tighten it up out there.
