Belgium's Lovely Parting Gift Is a Clean Sheet over England

Here's what amazing about this clash for third place in the World Cup:

FIFA actually got a full house for it at Kreztovsky Stadium in St Petersburg.

As this match had all the significance of, say, Egypt vs Saudi Arabia, what was it? Gunpoint night at the stadium?

Bring someone in at gunpoint and get in free?

The good news is there were no reports of rowdy boys wandering into the woods.

The bad news is either England or Belgium was gonna lose a game after losing the game each side laid it all out to play.

The match barely started and Belgium already showed they were the less hung over.

It was only the 4th minute when a quick-developing play started with the 'keeper Thibaut Courtois and ended up with Nacer Chadli assisting Thomas Meunier, who was up close and personal with Jordan Pickford and put the Red Devils in clover:

Well, at least a couple of dudes feel better already.

England tried to find at least one goal, but unfortunately for them, their strikers Harry Kane and Raheem Sterling were not looking so inspired as they missed their best chances.

On one occasion, they even teamed up to do it:

Meanwhile, when one is up a goal, it's time to attempt a bitta French pastry for the spectators, viewers, and highlight video editors:

One can only imagine what Youri Tielemans was thinking after that.

While the Three Lions kept confirming they ran outta ideas after the Sweden game, those golden Belgians kept finding spaces and creating opportunities.

One happened in the 82nd minute when the Red Devils' two best players teamed up. Kevin De Bruyne assisted Eden Hazard, who did what Chelsea fans wish he'd do more often:

Ergo, a 2-0 victory for Belgium.

It was their best-ever performance in a World Cup, earning them a free trip home.
