Barça's Crush Job a Reality Check for Bayern

Bayern Munich may be the alpha Alsatians in their own league, but Barcelona are the planet's pit bulls.

Barcelona thrashed the big-headed Bayern boys, 3-0, in the first leg of their semi-finale pairing to virually ensure their place in the Champions League title tilt.

In the Bundesliga, nobody comes near the mighty Bayern, who may have thought that history would repeat itself from 2013, but Lionel Messi & Co thought otherwise.

It was the magical Messi start the pendulum swinging the other way:

That would've expect a lot from the Ballon d’Or nominee 'keeper. What a diabolical turnover!

Now we know why Messi came second and Neuer third.

Putting it mildly, against the melted butter that was Bayern's defense on this night, Messi couldn't resist helping himself to another:

Great chip shot. Probably took lessons from fellow Argentine Ángel Cabrera.

On the other side of the coin, who was tutoring der Stern des Südens? These dudes?

If Bayern had scored an away goal, the disaster could have been mitigated, but instead ... well ... instead:

The epic World Cup clash between the Germans and the Brazillians could've been a whole 'nother story had this dude been on the host side. But while that wasn't in the cards, Neymar just found a new deck.

With a 3-0 ledger in Barça's favor, one would think an appointment with the final is assured, but how many times have we seen otherwise?

The second time around, Bayern would do well to get back to basics and find their inner beast.
