Arsenal Surprised by Watford

So many years removed from their glory days, the Watford Hornets still have a sting or two left, after all.

If the lovely and talented Arsenal Gunners thought they'd be out for a stroll in the outer London suburbs in this one, they were sorely mistaken.

The Hornets shockingly emerged as 2-1 winners.

Questions still remain as to why Arsène Wenger is still the Gunners' manager, but no responses yet.

Arsenal did seize the lead early on, as Per Mertesacker scored the first in the 39th minute:

Germans are pretty damn good at using their head.

And there matters stood, through to intermission and beyond, as Arsenal seemed content to share possession every now and then, but that lack of aggression came back to haunt them.

Like in the 71st minute, when it seemed the defense got lulled to sleep and then suffered a truly dodgy penalty:

Change of pace must have been the only thing that whould have swayed the referee.

Still, to the Gunners, it had to feel like a Bab Bob moment.

Yes. Kinda like that.

Troy Deeney, Watford's reliable goal source, dutifully converted the penalty with such ease, shoplifters would have done well to take notes.

If you've been a regular Premiership viewer, then you know where this is going.

It's the pressure of the added time, andtwominute  s into it,  Tom Cleverley seals the upset.

We've seen this 'way too many times.

But it still never fails to amaze.
