A Gunners Bummer at Anfield

There Arsenal was, on the road and in control.

The trois points -- read it in French in honor of Arsène, dudes: twah pwah will do -- were there for the taking at Anfield.

And then, poof. That word's bilingual.

The Gunners would up with a 2-2 draw against Liverpool. It was to be a match of redemption for the Gunners, as they lost 5-1, the last time they met the 'Pool. However, for the Merseysiders, it was a desperate cry for a win to prove something.

Anything, actually.

Both teams are 'way off their standards right now, or should we say, their managers are. To the home side’s credit, Liverpool had more run of play, but it was the Gunners making the most of their chances: three shots, two goals. Maybe Arsenal are imitating Manchester United's performance against them with such stats.

As Liverpool hit, Arsenal hit back.

While the NHL would call this one a five-hole shot, perhaps footballers would consider it the ultimate nutmeg. Either way, Oliver Giroud isn't complaining.

And whatever this is that he was doing afterward, don't try it at home. Or anywhere else, for that matter.

Then, with and incredible nine minutes of added time, the Reds wouldn't take no for an answer.

It was Martin Skrtel’s magic headband to the rescue. And no, don't wear that at home. Or anywhere else, for that matter.

And bless this dude for giving a backhanded shout-out to The Daily Player's musical director emeritus:

Little Steven comment

In the end, Liverpool got 'way less than they deserved; Arsenal got more and coulda got 'way more.
