Weber Fêted by Predators, Then Beats Them

Maybe it's not first and foremost, but perhaps Shea Weber should thank the Montréal Canadiens for making this night possible.

After all, they're the club who stunned the hockey world by shipping Darth Vader PK Subban to Nashville in exchange for him, mainly because they were of a mind, incredibly, to get rid of Subban.

Opinions vary on the trade, but there's no doubting that when the spotlight shines, Shea Weber's basking in it.

Last night was Weber's first game in Nashville wearing something other than a Preds' sweater, but the fans wanted him to know that -- to them, anyway -- he'd always be a Pred:

Cool stuff.

And he didn't have an occasion to beat anyone up during the game, so there's that, too.

But duty still called.

With the game tied 1-1 in the third period, as he has so many times before in Nashville colors, Weber stepped up:

That had to be a bittersweet moment in Nashville.

But in true Grand Ole Opry fashion -- RIP, Minnie and Grandpa -- that's what the fans here expect from their celebrities.
