The Shot Dude: Poke the Bear
It's never a good idea to poke a bear.
Similarly, there are also those athletes you should never awaken when slumping.
Your favorite Shot Dude is wide awake and has brought some great ideas for the early portion of today's NHL slate.

FanDuel is the daily fantasy site that never sleeps. Get in on a game or two and use some of these suggestions:
Zach Parise, Minnesota ($7400) ... is coming off his third hat trick of the season last game against Calgary. Dude's fantasy score was 16.4 and most likely helped you win big if you included him in your lineup. Parise also has a great history against today's opponent, Colorado. He not only registered a hat trick earlier this season, he also has 28 points in 25 career games against the Avs.
Jerome Iginlia, Colorado ($5300) ... is the current NHL player with the most career points against Minnesota. His 71 points in 80 games makes Wild fans cringe. Today's game is crucial because these are the two teams scrambling for a playoff spot in the West. Don't be afraid to roster skaters from this one; there should be plenty of scoring.
Justin Abdelkader, Detroit ($4700) ... has 4 points in his last 4 games and 18 goals on 142 shots this season. Dude's taken 8 of those shots and has 2 points in 2 games against today's rival, Pittsburgh. Speaking of scrambling for the playoffs, Detroit is locked in a battle with Philadelphia for the last spot in the East. Watch the Red Wings get a win at home against the Pens, who were just shutout by New Jersey two days ago.
Defensemen
Brent Burns, San José ($7700) ... has been a hibernating bear who I hope wakes up with a huge performance today. With just 2 assists in his last 5 games, Burns has been held at bay. Dude's never afraid to shoot, with 314 blasts in 74 games, so he won't be quiet for long. The Sharks have a home tilt with Dallas today. The Stars are comfortably in the playoffs, while the San José looks good but hasn't officially clinched.
Kris Letang, Pittsburgh ($7200) ... has made Detroit look silly with 2 goals and 2 assists on 6 shots in 2 games against them this season. Dude's up to 55 points in 63 games for the Pens, another team that hasn't quite punched their playoff ticket. Despite not scoring in their last game against New Jersey, Pittsburgh has won 7 of their last 10 games.
Goaltender
Martin Jones, San José ($8900) ... had 32 saves in a win back on 16 January against Dallas. Dude's been confirmed to face them again today in his home crease. Even though it's been a rocky road this season, Jones has notched 35 wins with a solid .920 save percentage. Both these teams have won 6 of their last 10 games, but I give the Sharks the edge to win on home ice.
Your favorite Shot Dude hopes you had a restful night's sleep and are ready to have a winning fantasy day.
