The Shot Dude: Oldies Night

Doesn't every city in America have a designated meeting place for Oldies Night each Friday?

It's usually the parking lot of a classic Mickey D's.

Or maybe some supper club with a 50's car parade and do-wop music blaring.

Well, in keeping with that spirit, your favorite Shot Dude is holding Oldies Night right here.

I've found some older players who are still getting it done in the NHL and will help you win your fantasy matchups tonight.

Each player listed -- complete with their current FanDuel salary -- is at least 34 years old with the exception of our 31-year old goalie.

You can get an eyeful of tonight's four-game schedule by using the Bovada data tool, located on our Home page:

NHL schedule 13 Nov 2015

Forwards

Patrick Marleau, San José ($7100) ... is 36 but still plays almost 20 minutes each night. In fact, he plays with Joel Ward, 35, and Joe Thornton, 36, who both just missed making my recommendations for tonight. Marleau has scored 4 goals from the 46 shots he's taken and added 5 assists in 15 games. Dude's a main cog in the Sharks' first power play unit. San José hasn't played since Tue10 Nov and should be well rested for this tilt with Detroit. Speaking of ...

Henrik Zetterberg, Detroit ($7100) ... is 35 and leads the Red Wings in assists (11), total points (15), and power play points (7). His 32 shots have led to 4 goals so far. Since Zetterberg leads both the first scoring line and the first power play unit, he has great opportunities to score and assist every night. He's another dude who averages almost 20 minutes of ice time each game.

Pascal Dupuis, Pittsburgh ($4900) ... is 36 and, due to injury, has played in only 7 games this season. Dude's averaging 2 shots per game and has scored 2 goals. Dupuis plays his even-strength minutes on the same line as Sidney Crosby, so he's got great chances to score by virtue of skating with the dude whom many consider to be the NHL's greatest current player. At less than $5000, you've gotta like the exposure to Crosby your lineup will see through Dupuis.

Defensemen

Marek Židlický, New York Islanders ($4100) ... is the oldest of our group at 38. This Czech blueliner gets time on the Isles' second power play unit. He has 4 assists to go with his 1 goal this year. I like New York's chances tonight against an Anaheim team that's looked surprisingly average in their last 10 games.

Kevin Bieksa, Anaheim ($4100) ... is 34 and plays on the Duck's top defensive pairing. He's still looking for his first goal but has registered 2 assists. Bieksa's prospects for scoring and assisting are greater now that he sees time on the second power play unit. Your favorite Shot Dude thinks this will be a 4-3 game, so get your popcorn ready!

Goaltender

Marc-André Fleury, Pittsburgh ($10,000) ... at 31, dude's been quite impressive in net. He ranks third in the NHL with a .931 save percentage by goalies who've made at least 10 starts. Fleury has 8 wins, 4 of which have come at home in 6 of those starts. Tonight, he's on home ice facing a Columbus team that's only scored 38 goals in 16 games. Columbus is also the second-worst team in the league in penalty kill percentage. Flueury should have a nice lead to work with, even if he lets in a goal or two.

Your Shot Dude hopes your night of fantasy NHL is an oldie but a goodie and profits are high!

As always, you can't win if you don't take your best shot!
