The Shot Dude: Makin' Sunday a Funday

Let's make Sunday a fun day with some great NHL action and the winning picks I will bestow upon you.

As you can see from today's schedule -- check the Bovada data tool on our Home page -- there are five games on the docket.

And none over in London, either. We'll leave the British Elite League to its own devices and keep our focus on North America:

Take your shot at a winning lineup by deploying the dudes listed below, shown with pricing according to FanDuel:

Forwards

Max Pacioretty ($8700) ... is curently sixth in the league with 43 shots taken but first with production from those shots. We can get on board with anyone who's already scored 7 goals, two of which have been game-winners. Winnipeg enjoyed a win yesterday in Columbus, but their fun might end quickly once Max hits the ice.

Joe Pavelski ($7900) ... gives us almost 20 minutes of ice time per game. You may not hear much about him because his games are often played late on the West Coast, but this former Wisconsin Badger has 5 goals and 4 helpers so far this season on 33 shots taken. That's impressive for his only having appeared in 10 games to date. Today's contest is the third in four for Colorado -- as if they don't have enough issues -- and it'll be no fun for the Avs, facing Joe P!

Frans Nielsen ($5500) ... might have the most fun of all today in the battle of Eastern New York v Western New York. Nielsen's 31 shots this season have produced 5 goals and 4 assists. He'll be looking to send the Sabres upstate with a loss. I really like his chances to score, because Buffalo is another team playing their third game in four days.

Defensemen

Roman Josi ($6100) ... is expensive for a blueliner, but well worth it to me. Dude's been rather busy lately, logging in over 24 minutes of ice time a game. He has 8 points -- 2 G and 6 A -- in 10 games with 28 shots taken. Josi runs the second power play unit for Nashville. He could be your lineup's late hammer when the Preds face the Ducks in the last game of the day.

Jason Garrison ($3700) ... Here's the value play I always find for you. Garrison has taken the same amount of shots as Josi but at a much lower salary. Even though he's scored just 2 goals, you'll see the fun when you save big money with him. And' you'll need to save somewhere to afford Pacioretty and the other studs you have your eye on today.

Goaltender

Thomas Greiss ($7700) ... I really like the Islanders' chance to have the most fun of any team while they beat Buffalo. The best part -- and a little-known fact -- is that the Sabres lead the league with 33.8 shots taken per game. Why is this good, you ask? Well, Griess is a great netminder -- as shown by his .926 save percentage, which has led to a 3-0 record in 5 starts. Whenever there's a good chance for a goalie to get a win and stop at least 30 shots, I want him in my lineup!
