The Shot Dude: Makin' Bucks with da Pucks

Your Shot Dude is back again with players I think will fill the net with pucks.

And that means you can line your wallet with bucks!

Take a hard look at my recommendations and -- if you haven't done so already -- register for an account at FanDuel, purvey my recommendations, crack a quality adult beverage, and get set for an evening of fast-paced action.

And it should be fierce tonight with nine games on the schedule:

NHL sked 30 Oct 2015

Checking the Bovada data tool on our Home page, we see the New York Rangers(-230) and the Washington Capitals (-210) as the biggest favorites. Feel free to dig deeper by checking out the NHL section.

Here's who will give you the best shot at winning your DFS contests, with FanDuel pricing included:

Forwards

Rick Nash ($8200) ... Although it hasn't led to many points yet, Nash has taken 32 shots in 10 games. Tonight's a great opportunity for the dude to turn his lack of lit lamps around. He's on home ice, facing Toronto with Jonathan Bernier in net. Bernier is winless in 5 starts this season and has a dismal .894 SV% on the road.

Alexander Ovechkin ($10,000) ...  A chalk pick, but I cannot see a situation where this dude's shot volume will ever diminish. Ovie's 5.3 SPG average is the highest in the league by a huge margin. Like Nash, he's on home ice versus a sub-par Columbus team. I expect big things from the Russian nightmare tonight!

Incidentally, in the What-the-Hell Graphics department, this seems like a fitting moment to feature our two selections:

Unfortunately, none of those shots count.

Jakub Voracek ($7500) ... Even though Voracek hasn't scored a goal yet, it's just a matter of time. He's fifth in the entire NHL with the 40 shots he's taken in 9 games. Although Buffalo's improving with all the young talent they've acquired, Voracek has a great chance to notch his first goal against them. It'll help that Voracek is facing Linus Ullmark, the Sabres' back-up goalie and all the more reason Voracek should score.

Defensemen

Justin Faulk ($5700) ... I love this player's contributions on both ends of the ice. He's the heart and soul of the Carolina Hurricanes, and quite a puck-slinger! His 36 shots have resulted in 3 goals and 3 helpers so far with no signs of slowing down. I'm going to tip my hand here at my goalie play, but the 'Canes are in the best spot for a win tonight and Faulk will lead them there.

Jeff Petry ($4100) ... As always, I try to find you a value play or two so you can fit the studs into your lineup. Petry is your man tonight. Due to injury, Joni Ortio will most likely start in goal for Calgary. Petry has taken 20 shots this season and gets second-unit power play time. Not too shabby for his cheap price.

Goaltender

Cam Ward ($7200) ... Here's another budget-saver. Ward will most likely get the start on home ice with great blueliners like Faulk in front of him. The best part is, he's going up against a below-average Colorado team that just played last night in Florida. Plus, the Avs only get off  26.6 shots per game; that's third-lowest in the NHL. Add it all up, and the 'Canes netminder should get a 'W' tonight!
