The Shot Dude: Limited Choices

Some restaurants have menus so large that you know your meal decision would be easier with less choices.

Making your NHL fantasy lineup should be easier today because the schedule has a sparse three-game menu for us to consider.

Even though only six teams will will skate tonight, your favorite Shot Dude has found some brightly shining lights to decorate your roster. You can see tonight's small slate of NHL games by using the Bovada data tool located on our Home page:

NHL schedule 7 Dec 2015

I'll include FanDuel pricing with them as usual, but please, just use these suggestions as a starting point to building your winning lineup.

Forwards

Gabriel Landeskog, Colorado ($6800) ... has revenge on his mind from a 3-0 defeat at the hands of Minnesota on Saturday night. The Avalanche gets home ice tonight in the second of this home-and-home series in what should be a higher-scoring, more competitivegame. Landeskog has scored 7 goals on the 66 shots he's taken in 25 games this season. Minnesota has the league's fourth-worst penalty kill at a meager 75.8%, so Landeskog and his mates on the Avs' top power play should get their chances. Both goalies in this game have had roller-coaster type seasons so far, so this one has the chance to be quite entertaining.

Jason Pominville, Minnesota ($6400) ... had no goals four games ago but has found the back of the net three times since. This isn't for lack of trying, as Pominville is second on the Wild with 65 shots taken to date. Dude's assisted on 10 goals this season and has a great chance to add to his point total here as Colorado ranks 26th in the NHL with the 80 goals surrendered in 27 games. Saturday's game got chippy towards the end, so there could be some extra penalties taken, leading to added power play opportunities for both teams.

David Krejci, Boston ($5900) ... has taken 55 shots resulting in 9 goals in 25 games so far this season. He's added 17 assists and scored 3 game-winning goals while logging in an average of over 20 minutes of ice time per game. Your favorite Shot Dude loves the Bruins' chances of winning at home tonight against Nashville, due to two glaring trends. First, Boston has the fourth-most-potent offense in the NHL with the 82 goals. Secondly, since Nashville has the third-worst penalty kill at only 75%, Krejci and the other B's on the top power play line should have the upper hand in man-up situations.

Defensemen

Tory Krug, Boston ($6300) ... plays alongside Krejci as the point man on Boston's No 1 power play line and has chipped in with 7 power play points. Dude's second on the Bruins with 74 shots on goal and plays an average of almost 22 minutes a game. Krug is active on the ice with 12 assists so far and has taken at least 3 shots on goal in 7 of his last 10 games. I really think Krug will have success against the Predators not only for the same reasons as listed above, but also because Nashville has given up over 3 goals per game in their 13 road contests this year.

Rasmus Ristolainen, Buffalo ($5000) ... is a young blueliner from Finland -- where buying a vowel will break your bank -- who is turning heads in Buffalo. He leads all Sabres with 14 assists and over 24 minutes of ice time per game. Dude's taken the second-most shots of any Sabre with 67, and although he's scored just 4 goals, two have come on the power play and one was a game winner. Sometimes you just get a gut feeling, and your favorite Shot Dude thinks Ristolainen gets at least one point in Vancouver tonight.

Goaltender

Ryan Miller, Vancouver ($7400) ... has been confirmed as the starter for the Canucks on home ice tonight against the Buffalo Sabres. I really don't like any netminders tonight, but Miller's cheap salary will allow you to afford higher-priced forwards to help beat your fantasy opponents. Since Buffalo has only scored an average of just over 2 goals a game on the road, your favorite Shot Dude thinks Miller can pick up a 3-2 victory.

Even though there aren't many players on the NHL menu tonight, I believe this list will help you realize your share of the winnings tonight.
