The Shot Dude: Life of Leisure

We all experience weather concerns, homework to finish, a house to clean, and pets to pick up after.

Life is filled with time-consuming tasks to derail us from a very important segment of our existence -- leisure time!

Your favorite Shot Dude is here to remind you to make time for hobbies, surfing the web, and goofing off. These are what keep us sane, people!

I also just happen to have a lineup of excellent NHL player recommendations to help you sit back, relax, and enjoy some winning. You can catch all eight of tonight's killer matchups with the help of the Bovada data tool on our Home page:

Bovada NHL schedule

FanDuel is the daily fantasy place to be when it come to leisure time, and I always include their pricing like so ...

Forwards

Sidney CrosbyPittsburgh ($8900) ... is not a player I tout often, but he's running on all cylinders right now. All total, he's taken 113 shots, resulting in 11 goals and 29 points in 37 games. More than a third of that production has come in just the last seven games, with 5 goals and 5 assists. Dude's only been below below five fantasy points once in his last seven games, as well. Many will see Chicago as the Penguins' opponent and ignore Crosby, so including him will differentiate your lineup; you'll profit if he goes off.

Wayne SimmondsPhiladelphia ($6000) ... had just 16 points in his first 31 games to open the season. However, dude's really improved of late, with 5 points in his last 7, He's on pace to have his highest season total of penalty minutes, which helps boost your FanDuel score. In fact, Simmonds' current total of 82 PiMs ranks him fifth in the league and is one of the few players I've featured this season who has more penalty minutes than shots (81). The Flyers entertain Montréal, who have been slumping with just 3 wins in their last 10 contests.

Jaromír JágrFlorida ($5500) ... has now tallied 5 goals and 8 points in his last 10 games, helping the Panthers to nine straight wins. I have to remind myself that this man is 43 years old, especially when he's tallied 28 points in 36 games, including three game-winning goals. Florida has now taken over first place in the Atlantic division, due in part to getting a least a point in 12 of their 18 road games. Tonight, the Panthers face Buffalo, losers of four consecutive games.

Defensemen

PK SubbanMontréal ($6300) ... has now scored at least 4 fantasy points in 5 of his last 7 games and tallied an assist in each of his last three. When you see that Subban has registered 27 points in 40 games, you'd never think he's lit the lamp only once on 107 shots. This can only mean that this dude's scoring barrage is about to begin, and we should take advantage of it. The Canadiens will be in Philadelphia tonight; they're fourth in NHL scoring on the road by averaging 3.00 goals a game.

Matt NiskanenWashington ($5000) ... like Subban, has an assist in each of his last 3 games. His steady increase of ice time reached a pinnacle of 32 minutes last time out at Columbus. The highest he's ever averaged in a season was 24 minutes a game last year. With Brooks Orpick and John Carlson still out for the Capitals, Niskanen is sure to see his chance to pad his stats continue. Washington will visit Boston, the most generous of all NHL teams at home by allowing 64 goals in 21 games.

Capitals v Bruins

Goaltender

Pekka RinneNashville ($8700) ... ranks third league-wide with 12 home victories, including winning 3 of his last 4 starts at Bridgestone Arena. Dude will defend home ice tonight when the Predators meet Winnipeg tonight.  Rinne registered a 20-save shutout against these same Jets the last time he faced them. This matchup looks extra tempting, since Winnipeg averages just 2.36 goals on the road, and they've only won 7 of their 22 away games this season.

Your favorite Shot Dude hopes you make good use of your leisure time today and pick up some well-deserved fantasy cash.
