The Shot Dude: Checking In on Who's Due

Back in early November, your favorite Shot Dude spotlighted six struggling players who were due for success.

It worked well. Every player posted a positive score on FanDuel that night, including a goal, two assists and a goaltender win.

A return to the Island of Overdue Players is in order today, and with enough reader feedback, just might become a monthly installment.

A revisit to FanDuel is another of today's great ideas, as their pricing for each player is included.

Forwards

Max PaciorettyMontréal ($9200) ... very frustratingly has only scored one goal with the 33 shots he's taken in his last seven games. Dude had been averaging one goal per seven shots taken prior to wallowing in this recent quagmire. The Habs will skate home ice, and tonight's opponent -- Ottawa -- has given up 43 goals in 14 road games. Also, the Senators road penalty kill is a palty 76.6%. This is a great night for Max to break out of his scoring slump.

Ryan Johansen, Columbus ($7900) ... has not lit the lamp with the 20 shots he's fired in the last 5 games. Since his season average is one goal per every 9 shots, it's time for Johansen to find the back of the net. The Islanders will visit Columbus and have surrendered 31 goals in 13 road games so far this season. Tonights' the night the cover comes off the net for Johansen.

Tyler Toffoli, Los Angeles ($5900) ... is wondering how he could score 10 goals on 44 shots in his fist 18 games and then only one goal on 30 shots in his last 10. So are we! Regardless of the answer, Toffoli has an incredible chance to put that all behind him tonight against Buffalo. The Sabres seem to playing with extra wide goal-mouths lately, allowing 20 goals in their last 5 contests.

Defensemen

Dennis WidemanCalgary ($5500) ... has dished out 14 assists in 28 games but has not scored a goal yet. Even though he's not a high-volume bomber, at least a few of the 39 shots this dude's scorched should have crossed the goal line by now. With the Flames home to the Rangers, Wideman's luck just may change. New York has lost seven of their last nine and just allowed seven goals to Edmonton last night.

Jason GarrisonTampa Bay ($3600) ... started out the season with two goals and an assist in his first two games. Sometimes, great beginnings have downturns, as all Garrison has mustered is one more assist in his most recent 27 games! He does provide value for your fantasy lineup and gets a home date with the Capitals. Tonight presents an opportunity for him since Washington has shown tendencies of road vulnerability by letting in 28 goals in 12 away games.

Goaltender

Pekka RinneNashville ($8300) ... just had his best performance in a while the last time out against Chicago. Dude only let one puck past him and rang up 35 saves for Win No 12 on the season. Why is he due? It was only his second victory in his last nine games after he started the season by winning five of his first six games in net. I like Rinne to win a 3-1 game, considering his opponent. Colorado comes calling, and they're a mediocre 5-7 over the last 12 and have only scored eight goals in their last five games.

Your favorite Shot Dude is counting on you to pay some overdue bills with the money you win from today's suggestions.
