The Shot Dude: Bounce-Back Monday

It's best for a professional athlete to have a short memory.

Forgetting a bad play and trying to do better next time is essential for an athlete's mental stability.

Your Shot Dude knows this all too well because it also applies to daily fantasy sports. You cannot possibly win everyday, that's why every sport has a loss column. Well, I declare today Bounce-Back Monday!

Our spotlight will shine brightly on skaters whose teams lost the last time they took the ice. Let's hope the odds are in our favor.

Speaking of odds, you can check out today's six-game schedule by using the Bovada data tool on our Home page.

NHL schedule 16 Nov 2015

Included are each player's FanDuel price, give them a try if you haven't already.

Forwards

Steven Stamkos, Tampa Bay ($8800) ... the Lightning lost to Florida, 5-4, on Saturday and also play them tonight. For revenge to come to fruition, Stamkos will have to will play a big part. He's been the ringleader on the top power play line. He's sniped 9 goals -- 5 on the power play -- on 47 shots with 5 assists.

Roberto Luongo, who just gave up 4 goals on 28 shots to the Lightning, will be in net for Florida again. I expect another high-scoring icefest tonight.

Vladimir Tarasenko, St Louis ($8200) ... the Blues lost a tough one to Chicago on SaturdayChicago. Their bounceback opportunity is tonight at home against Winnipeg.

Bovada Winnipeg v St Louis

Tarasenko is worth the splurge due to his leadership and high shot volume. Dude's dished out 6 assists and has taken 68 shots, resulting in 10 goals, and 2 of those were game-winners. Winnipeg has a goal differential of -11, and their 'tenders have a losing road record with a GAA north of 3.00. Your favorite Shot Dude forecasts a 4-1 Blues victory tonight.

Dylan Larkin, Detroit ($4300) ... the Red Wings got beat down by Boston on Saturday. They can get back on track in Ottawa tonight. Although just a rookie, Larkin leads the Red Wings in shots with 40 and has scored 2 game-winning goals. Dude's a sensational +11 through 17 games and gets time on the second power play unit. Larkin also provides value, so you can fit Stamkos and Tarasenko into your lineup. Your Favorite Shot Dude predicts a 3-2 game that could go either way.

Defensemen

Andrei Markov, Montréal ($5600) ... Les Club du Hockey was hammered by Colorado on Saturday. That five-goal loss is severely in need of a bounceback against Vancouver tonight! Markov is not the most active shooter, having taken just 23 through 18 games. Where his value lies is leading the Canadiens' top power play unit. He has 2 goals and 13 assists overall, but both goals and 6 assists have come on power plays. Your favorite Shot Dude likes Montreal to win 3-1.

Chris Wideman, Ottawa ($3300) ... the Senators lost in a shootout to the Rangers on Saturday. Wideman plans to lead his mates back to the win column. He's averaged 2.5 shots and has scored both a power play and a game-winning goal in the 6 games in which he's appeared. Wideman sees time on Ottawa's second power play unit and, like Larkin, is another rookie to make my recommendations today.

Goaltender

Jake Allen, St Louis ($9800) ... the Blues have a great chance to begin a new winning streak on home ice against Winnipeg due to Allen's dominance at ScottradeCenter. He has a tiny 1.59 GAA and a .924 save percentage plus a shutout in his home crease. The Jets are one of the NHL's colder teams, having dropped 5 straight and 7 of their last 10 games. Allen just may get his second home shutout against the Jets tonight.

Bounce-Back Monday is in full swing, so your favorite Shot Dude encourages you to forget your troubles and take full advantage of your chance to make some cash.

Remember to always take your best shot!
