Malcolm Subban's Knights Outlast PK Subban's Preds

This was the sorta night that creates hockey fans.

  • End-to-end action,
  • Brilliant goalie play,
  • The return of a prodigal son, and
  • A family reunion.

Put it all together in Smashville, and the surprising Vegas Golden Knights collected a pair of road points as Malcolm Subban totally stoned the Predators over six rounds for a 4-3 shootout victory.

There are three Subbans in the NHL these days -- little bro Jordan just got traded from Vancouver to the Los Angeles Kings -- and this was the first time PK and Malcolm have met in league play.

With Marc-André Fleury still sidelined due to a concussion, Malcolm rose to the occasion yet again and put on a show.

It was fitting to see Neal score on his return to the city where he was so prominent in their Cup run last spring, but the goal that stole the show in this one belonged to the acrobatic Viktor Arvidsson.

Taking another look:

The diminutive Swede's been on a roll with flashy goals.

Here's his puckish version of a nutmeg in Nashville's Sun 26 Nov game at Carolina:

Dude's definitely a full-service player.

Take the Preds' game against Anaheim on Sat 2 Dec.

Arvidsson was approached by a fan who asked for help with a wedding proposal. The right winger was the fiancée-to-be's favorite player and was thus entrusted with being the stealth ring bearer:

Yet another memorable assist, with validation from PK.

These days, there's nothing Arvidsson can't do.
