Vikings Coach Not Impressed with Manziel

While the whole world was oooohhing and ahhhing over Johnny Manziel's NFL workout yesterday, at least one coach wasn't buying it.

Minnesota Vikings head coach Mike Zimmer was not impressed at all by Manziel or "the show" he put on.

“The huddles and the different things and the music, the sideshow stuff,” Zimmer said via the Houston Chronicle. “It was a sideshow.”

“It was a different workout,” Zimmer said. “It’s the first time I’ve ever seen it. This one was a little different in how it was choreographed. People like that or they don’t like that, I don’t know.”

Dunno. Does it look that different?

I guess Zimmer doesn't believe in the saying, "They do things bigger in Texas". Apparently, the "sideshow" included rap music, huddling up and wearing shoulder pads.

Which quite frankly why were people "impressed" with the shoulder pads thing?

What would have been more impressive is if he went against the LSU defense again. They've shut him down two years in a row.

Zimmer is an old school coach who doesn't believe in putting on a show, which basically is what Manziel did.

Yes, Mr Football was impressive in the eyes of most who attended, but some coaches like Zimmer aren't looking for a showman; they are looking for a button-down quarterback.

They want a guy to lead their team to the playoffs and perhaps a Super Bowl. And despite the performance by Johnny Football yesterday, not everyone is sold on the "showman".
