The NFL Is Being Difficult Again

Referring to the NFL as the No Fun League is a tired old trope.

However, it's usually right on the money.

The Los Angeles Rams, in an apparent effort to be more fan-friendly, would like to wear their retro uniforms more often than the league-mandated two times per year.

You know the unis in question.

Predictably, the NFL is pushing back for reasons that haven't really been explained.

 

Apparently, the Rams petitioned the league for permission to wear the throwback uniforms in their wild card game with the Falcons last season but were denied.

You may recall how that game turned out:

 

The fans in LA are emphatic in their support for the retro look, but the NFL doesn't seem to care, opting instead for their standard grumpy old man posture.

 

The Rams are currently in the process of overhauling their overall uniform scheme, which should be unvelied in the next few years.

Hopefully, those new unis will include the Eric Dickerson 80's goggles.
