The Battle of the Bulge with Eddie Lacy
Eddie Lacy is a perfectly capable NFL player, and by all accounts, a decent human being.
However, his perpetual weight problem still appears to be an issue, a reality that could begin to affect his earning potential.
The Green Bay running back is set to hit free agency, but it appears the offers may be tepid at best.
A recent report states the Packers have fined Lacy two seasons in a row for not making the team's prescribed weight.
This unfortunate news doesn't bode well for the former Crimson Tide stud on the open market.
It will likely be difficult to find a team willing to commit any significant money or years to someone with this sort of baggage, pun absolutely intended.
Organizations are funny that way.
It's a damn shame, because Lacy can ball.
That was the dude back in 2013 and 2014.
However, he was always right on the cusp with the weight, teetering toward oblivion.
With little margin for error, it seems Lacy will always be battling such demons.
He entered the league at a robust 230 pounds, so Lacy will always be a large running back.
But the food intake apparently needs to be monitored.
Hopefully, Lacy can find a nice landing spot, or perhaps he may remain in Green Bay.
Don't ask him about it, though.
Lacy is not the best source for football speculation.
