Taunt or Tactic? NFL Exec Calls Out Jadeveon Clowney

Here we go again.

Yet another negative comment from an NFL scout about Jadeveon Clowney.

This time, an anonymous -- aren't they always? -- NFL executive is making a crappy comment about the star linebacker, saying he was "spoiled" and "lazy."

But here's the question: Is this now just a ploy for other teams to hesitate on selecting the linebacker? You have to wonder.

The war room wheels are clearly spinning in high gear right now:

Years ago, the Dallas Cowboys had a chance to take wide receiver Randy Moss as a first-rounder but passed on him because of his reputation. Moss would go on to be All-Pro with the Minnesota Vikings and the New England Patriots. You think Jerry Jones regrets not taking a chance on Moss?

Now, we've got some NFL executive doing a downer on Clowney again, and for what? He's messing with a kid's career here by calling him spoiled and lazy.

In fact, these sound like the words of his former head coach, Steve Spurrier, who hasn't exactly supported him.

It wouldn't surprise me at all, though, if this is just a ploy by an NFL team so that Clowney would slip in the draft to a landing spot like, ummm, the New York Giants.

The report on Clowney came from NJ.com. And who has a stadium in New Jersey? Guess.

So, what's it to be, gossip or facts?

Still, don't be surprised if Jadevon Clowney falls in the draft. It may be just what a certain team wants.
