Super Bowl LII: An Eagles Wave Smacks Down the Vegas Take
There were no celebrations in New England after Super Bowl LII was done and dusted.
There were even fewer in the war rooms of legal bookmaking services.
Don't even wanna think about the neighborhood shades whose pockets aren't as deep.
For them, the day after was a virtual mass wake.
Philadelphia's alleged upset victory was about the only shining light for consumers amid dark market news on the Street yesterday.
Stocks and bonds won't be down long, though. Thank you, Eagles.
The Nevada books are mourning the fact that in total, all 198 of them combined only cleared a total of $1.2million.
Just think how they'd be feeling if one dude didn't walk in and drop a cool $1million on the Patriots.
Most of the high rollers were on the Eagles, and they were cashing in seven-figure chits.
Three tells called this game for the underdogs:
- Since 2002, when New England played in the Super Bowl, the game was within-six-points close;
- The ATS spreads leaned Eagle; and
- That World Series ballsy dude went large and larger on the Eagles.

* Spreading bets across town (tried to bet 2.8M at one Strip book)
Worse for the bookmakers, they got nailed on virtually ever prop bet.
But, like Wall Street now that Philadelphia has saved it, these dudes will be back with a vengance.
March Madness is just around the corner.
