Steelers Onside Kick Attempt is Comically Bad

Perhaps Pittsburgh Steelers kicker Chris Boswell should consider retiring the rabona.

Filling in a blank stare here, the rabona is a soccer thing.

In this instance, it was an adorable attempt at trickery and misdirection on an onside kick. It involves the kicker twisting and contorting his legs in a vulgar manner that looks really uncomfortable.

Not the most aesthetically pleasing of football plays.

Take a look at this pretzel in the making:

Told you so.

The fact that Boswell kicked it a second time was priceless, really bringing the bit home.

Apparently, Baltimore Ravens safety Eric Weddle really enjoyed it.

Others clearly did, as well.

Here's the thing, though.

In college at Rice, Boswell executed that bad boy to perfection.

That was silly good.

Thus, there was precedent for that woefully misguided attempt.

As badly as it went, Steelers Coach Mike Tomlin thinks it's worth another shot.

Oh joy.
