Sharper Denies Rape Allegations

While we were busy paying attention  to the Richard Sherman/Michael Crabtree incident, a bigger story was taking place.

A former all-pro safety for the New Orleans Saints, Darren Sharper, was accused of rape by two different women in Los Angeles.

According to TMZ, Sharper was arrested for allegedly raping one lady back in October of 2013 and another lady this month. Sharper denies the charges and said he had consensual sex with one woman and didn't know the other one.

Sharper was arrested last Friday by the LAPD and was released on  $200,000 bail. Apparently, the New Orleans Police Department is also investigating another rape allegation that was reported on 24 September.

Since retiring, Sharper has been working for the NFL Network, who announced that he's suspended without pay until further notice.

It's one thing to be accused of rape by one woman; just ask Florida State quarterback Jameis Winston. But when three women come out and say you raped them, something is up.

Sharper sounds like he could be a serial rapist, and if that's the case, he may not see the light of day ever again.

Sharper's first appearance in court will be, ironically, on Valentine's Day.
