Panthers QB Says He's a Falcons Fan

Colin Kaepernick should send Cam Newton a thank you note for taking him off the hotseat.

Kaepernick created some controversy a few weeks ago when he was caught posing with Miami Dolphins gear, which caused a frenzy on social media.

But at least he didn't do what Cam Newton did.

Newton admitted in a recent article that he is an Atlanta Falcons fan.

Keep in mind, Newton plays in the same division as the Falcons, and he is the current quarterback of one of their rivals, the Carolina Panthers.

"I've always been a Falcons fan, and I'm still a Falcons fan except for those two times a year," says Newton.

How do you think this is going to play with Panther fans? Every time he throws an interception, is sacked, or just makes a bad play against the Falcons, people will assume he did it on purpose.

That's like Tony Romo admitting he is a Redskins fan.

I understand Cam grew up in Atlanta and grew up a Falcons fan, but he probably should have just said 'I used to be a Falcons fan.' Would have served him better.

Cam is already not a favorite among his Panther teammates, so do you think he is going to live this down? Cam better have one hell of season, or my guess is he will soon be known as former Carolina Panthers quarterback Cam Newton.
