Marquette King Waging War With Local Media in Denver
They say first impressions are everything.
Well, Marquette King didn't get that memo.
The freshly minted Broncos punter hasn't been in Denver very long, but has somehow managed to antagonize an entire radio station.
An interview with 104.3 The Fan ended rather abruply after King launched into some Andy Kaufman-level performance art.
Actually, it wasn't nearly as interesting.
The former Oakland Raider and apparent nemesis of Jon Gruden, for whatever reason, simply decided to be kind of a dick, answering several questions with a dismissive I don't know before declaring, I just don't like talking about football.
Perhaps King could use a stimulant of some sort.
The charismatic sports radio team of former Broncos wide receiver Brandon Stokley and a dude named Zach Bye were not amused.
As with most modern disagreements, this petty war escalated on Twitter, with King deciding to involve another dude by the name of Darren McKee, who also is in the employ of The Fan.

Hmmm, interesting.
Mr. McKee, you have the floor.
To be interviewed then simply don’t do it. If you DO decide to do an interview have a clue who you are talking to. Why don’t you ask DT about Stokely as you apparently have no idea who anybody is. Best of luck punting the ball in Denver. Somehow our show will survive without you

Sounds like everyone's in a foul mood.
But we're not quite done with this silly saga.
It appears that King went after McKee at the Broncos' practice facility, with apparent intent on doing him bodily harm.
My buddy just sent me this pic of Broncos PR trying their best to keep Marquette King away from @dmac1043. Shame. pic.twitter.com/U2JqI2pkIo

One wonders if these people are aware that pot is legal in the state of Colorado.
