LAPD Charges Sharper with Rape

As we reported several weeks ago, former New Orleans Saints safety Darren Sharper was under investigation for three rape charges; two of them being in Los Angeles.

Well today, the LAPD has charged Sharper with two accounts of drugging and raping women.

The district attorney's office says Sharper will be arraigned Friday:

The rapes allegedly took place in October and January. Rape charges may also be pending in New Orleans, as well for a third rape.

Since retiring, Sharper has served as an analyst on the NFL Network but was suspended when these charges came about.

Sounds like the NFL is on the verge of another Aaron Hernandez type of situation, which will do even further damage to the image-conscious league.

And, if proven, it sounds like Sharper will discover The Longest Yard is where the long-term criminals go to exercise, with no frivolous football games against guards in sight.
