Kickers Fail Miserably in NFC West Battle

It seems ridiculous and unfair that two teams filled with large, chemically enhanced athletic freaks literally waging war should play a game decided by the tiniest dude on the field.

But hey, life is filled with terrible injustices.

Another example was provided when the Arizona Cardinals and Seattle Seahawks hooked up in the desert last night.

A brutal defensive struggle took place for 60 minutes of regulation and another 15 minutes of overtime.

Chandler Catanzaro of the Cardinals and Stephen Hauschka of the Seahawks both missed chip-shot field goals in overtime, and as a result we bore witness to the first NFL tie since 2014.

The term chip-shot isn't just a fun euphemism but a sad description of these two kicks.

Catanzaro boinked his 24-yard attempt off the left upright:

And then Hauschka badly hooked his 28-yarder wide left:

You can almost hear the Benny Hill theme in the background over Al Michaels' appropriately incredulous call of both kicks:

Meanwhile, Patrick Peterson literally lost sensation in the lower half of his body on the sidelines, causing him to almost pass out:

It was that kind of evening in the desert.
