Johnny Manziel Was Made for the CFL

Patience hasn't exactly been Johnny Football's strong suit during his meanderings.

Ironically, that's probably the most important reaction a player needs to be successful in the NFL.

Allegedly, dude's learned that being prone to rash decisions is not the way to further his career, not to mention his life in general.

Leave it to the Great White North to sort him out, though.

That's right. Canada sorts everybody out.

So, of course, Hamilton Tiger-Cats fans welcomed Mr Football with open arms, even though they've got a totally adequate starter. You just can't have enough nice QBs, and you gotta know they don't grow on trees up there.

What more could a ramblin', scramblin slinger want than a field where there's room to move:

If that doesn't have Mr Football stamped all over it, nothing does.

This point was confirmed in his first taste of live Canadian action, when Manziel looked just like his ol' Texas A&M self:

This was part of his 9-12, 80-yard debut and the result of what coach June Jones said was a stripped-down version of the Ti-Cat offense.

As if any offense Manziel deploys isn't stripped down, exemplified by his best moment in this outing coming in his fifth and final drive of the day:

There's one more exhibition game to go before the CFL season begins, which is what keeps snowshoes outta the team-issued equipment.

Jones has already decreed ex-Duck and -Rebel Jeremiah Masoli as Hamilton's starter, so it could be Manziel's last shot at extended action for a while.

How Manziel handles it will probably be an indicator of how long his revived football future will last.
