Favre's Agent: Brett Can Still Play

And we thought our national nightmare with Brett Favre was over.

That was before some bright light in the media decided to give Favre’s agent the floor.

Bus Cook used the occasion to tell Al.com’s Tommy Hicks that Favre may be 44, but he could still play.

“I saw him the other day,” Cook remarked. “He’s in the best shape I’ve ever seen him in, physically.

“His arms look like a blacksmith’s arms. He rides a bike probably 30-50 miles a day. He runs four or five miles a day. He’s coaching at the high school and they’re undefeated. He loves it. His body fat is 7.5% and he weighs 225 pounds. He could play today, better than a lot of them out there today.”

I don't know if Cook was just bragging or putting that information out there to see who would be interested -- and it is kind of interesting -- but there is a reason he said it. And from the looks of his quote, it definitely wasn’t to attract English teachers as clients.

With that being said, before we go into panic mode about having to cover yet another Brett Favre comeback story, former Packers wide receiver Greg Jennings says that there’s no way is Favre coming back.

"Brett is riding off into the sunset ... Brett is gone. Brett is gone."

Whew! T

That's good to know, but as long as teams like the Jacksonville Jaguars and Tampa Bay Buccaneers are seeking solutions to their quarterback deficiencies, it appears Favre's name will come up whether we want it or not.
