DeMarcus Ware Says He Didn't Say What He Said about Romo

Linebacker DeMarcus Ware was probably speaking for millions of Dallas Cowboy fans when he made a comment about Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo.

Ware basically said since Romo now has his big contract, it's time to put up or shut up.

"I feel like, you know, everybody is deserving of whatever is given to them," Ware said on Sirius XM. "But at the end of the day, to me, it's put up or shut up. I'm just being straight up honest with you. Get out there and be productive, and that's with any player. Whatever they get, they're deserving of it. You just got to get out there and play, and I know he can be and will be the quarterback who will take us to the next level."

A few days after Ware made those comments, he tried to say it was taken out of context.

"Any words [coming out of] your mouth, they automatically are going to twist the words that you [say].

"I talked to Romo about that. It doesn't come off as what it was [portrayed] as. It's all about I tell them when it's time to play: You know what? Put everything else behind you and put your best foot forward. He's that guy for us, and he's going to be that guy for us,

Now, how his words were taken out of context when he was on a radio station when he said them is beyond me. Ware is right, though. Romo is one of the highest paid players in the league now, and it's time he starts playing like it.

Since he is being paid like a Super Bowl quarterback, don't you think it's time for him to finally earn his pay?
