Chip Kelly Reverses Course, Will Coach Philadelphia Eagles
It's just been announced -- and confirmed by many sources -- that Oregon Duck head coach Chip Kelly is moving to the NFL to coach the Philadelphia Eagles.
As recently as Mon 7 Jan, Kelly had declined an offer from the Eagles.
Perhaps Kelly has reconsidered the effectiveness of his quickly paced offense in the NFL. After consulting with Kelly in the off-season, New England Patriots coach Bill Belichick began using some of Kelly’s basic principles, to great success. Given the results in Washington DC with Robert Griffin III and in San Francisco with Colin Kaepernick, it seems the NFL is currently moving in Kelly's direction.
And with that in mind, it may just be that Kelly decided it was time for the maestro to show the pros how it's really done.
And it probably didn't hurt that the Eagles sweetened the offer by giving him more control over personnel decisions.
