Big Ben Greets Mason Rudolph with Passive Aggressiveness

QB is without question the most important position in the NFL.

As such, it's of critical importance that teams prepare for the inevitable departure of their franchise chucker.

The Pittsburgh Steelers decided to be pro-active in this regard, selecting Oklahoma State product Mason Rudolph in the third round of the 2018 NFL Draft.

Well, it seems their current QB didn't particularly care for the pick.

Ben Roethlisberger feels the Steeler resources may have been misallocated with this selection. Dude's recently stated publicly that he intends on playing another three to five years.

If this is in fact true, then that pick could've been used on a player who helps the team win in this narrow championship window.

Of course, Big Ben has already flirted with retirement publicly.

In fact, it wasn't that long ago.

This is clearly a delicate situation that every franchise eventually faces.

The two-time Super Bowl ring bearer is still playing at an expert level and has the weapons in place to make another run or two before passing the torch.

However, it's prudent that the Steelers begin grooming his eventual replacement, and they feel that Rudolph just might be that dude.

It should be interesting to see how this little drama plays out, although it's likely that the film room mentoring will be limited at best.
