Angry White Dude: Don't Believe What You Hear

We got to see a title fight Saturday night on ESPN for free!

Not sure how many watched, but if you didn't, you missed out on one tough, close bout.

You also missed out on seeing Manny Pacquiao lose a unanimous decision  to Jeff Horn in his hometown of Brisbane, Australia.

Right after the decision was announced, the commentators at ringside started telling everyone watching that Pacquiao was robbed.

Please don't believe what you hear or read.

The only person that thought the decision was a good one was the person who really mattered the most:  A professional boxer named Timothy Bradley.

The other people did their very best to provide some very biased commentary.

I respect Teddy Atlas.  He actually knows boxing.  It surprised me when he stated that he thought the judges made a incorrect decision.  However, that was his opinion and we should all respect it.

I like Steven A Smith, but I have no problem informing him that he's not an expert on everything.

He practically bullied Timothy Bradley into changing his view of the fight. Steven A has been on 'way too many fake TV shows where two dudes have to take different sides of a subject just so they can be on TV.

We could all do that, couldn't we?

Keep in mind that nobody from Pacquiao's camp cried fix.

Even promoter Bob Arum didn't say a word after the fight about the decision.

It didn't matter that anny almost knocked out Horn in the ninth round. It didn't matter that Horn's face was cut, bleeding and swollen. Those facts don't mean that the Champ won the fight.

Here are the facts:

  • It was a close, tough fight in Jeff Horn's hometown.
  • Were the judges a little biased in their judging of the fight? Perhaps, maybe just a bit.
  • Hometown boy makes good and is now world champion.
  • In 6-8 months, they'll do it all over again in Pacquiao's hometown.

If it goes the 12 rounds rounds again, the judges just might be a bit biased once again.

It could be an Ideal scenario for Pacquiao. He has the chance to regain the title in his hometown and add to list of accomplishments.

It's a win-win situation. With one exception. Fight fans will have to reach into their pockets.

The next fight between Horn and Pacquiao will not be free on ESPN. It'll cost you about $69.99  to watch Manny get his title back!
